YMCA of Greater Seattle Assistant Program Supervisor, Kids University in Snoqualmie, Washington
As the Assistant Program Supervisor of our Kids University programs you will plan and implement activities and step in as the lead onsite when the Program Supervisor is not present. Kids U is a set of enrichment classes such as art, sports, cooking, chess, and science. Children sign up for specific classes based on their interests and passions that are led by program instructors. This position will serve on an engaging and dynamic team, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum are provided to the participants.
This position is a regular on going positon that works within our youth enrichment programs throughout the entire year, in our before and after school programs during the school year and within one of our summer camps during the summer.
Plans and implements culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum in accordance with the Youth Development goals of the YMCA. May be responsible for the quality and completion of program plans including lesson, behavior and event plans.
Supervises a group of children to ensure their health and safety and to provide for a positive experience for each child.
Supervises instructors/volunteers. Maintains required staff/child ratios.
Professionally communicates confidential and evaluative information with parents/guardians including newsletters, individual parent communication and parent/teacher conferences.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergency procedures.
Maintains professional relationships with families, facility personnel and the community. May plan and conduct events for parents.
May maintain required records according to YMCA, including attendance records, registration information, accident reports and discipline records.
Assists in recruiting new enrollments.
May ensure that site supplies are maintained and purchased as necessary.
Ensures developmentally appropriate classrooms including appearance, décor and cleanliness of site.
May prepare and serve snacks.
Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
Other duties as assigned.

You are 21 years of age or older and should have:
2 years or more of experience with children; camps, child care, tutoring, nanny, coaching, etc.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty
Experience planning and implementing group activities
If position requires driving:
Current Driver’s License with a minimum 3 years safe driving experience and a driving record which meets or exceeds YMCA standards
Maximum one minor violation
No speeding violation of more than 20mph over the limit
